How would you...know?
"Too Deep to Understand"
"Jon,... people are praying."
"Yes, they are... All the time... From all over the world. I can hardly get my head around it."
"If they don't know their prayers are being answered, then what?"
I sit quietly. "Am I being selfish by being silent?" I think.
Sometimes we think we are acting out of humility.
My friend had helped me to see what I wasn't seeing and hear, what I wasn't hearing.
Paint, Broken Pickers, and Spiritual Power
It's the DEPTH of Grace I still must not understand.
In the previous two blogs I hope you've sensed our mouths dropped open, our heads shaking in disbelief, and now spinning from sheer amazement. You give and give and give to us, and we have a meager way of expressing our gratitude. We can't match the outpouring. Our hearts are caught in a tidal wave of grace. God is magnifying this message to us: "If you're going to talk about my grace – I want your minds to swirl with inexpressible love."
I Have No Words
Can I include you in another moment of this week's journey?
A fine mist shower of paint spray filled the air this past weekend. Nelson, my "homeless friend" was back. Understand that God has used him, at specific times in my life, to teach me what only God could teach me through Nelson.
Normally, I don't have any problem rambling on about what I know - ask my family, students, or youth groups. But when GRACE speaks, it steals my breath and finally I can stand in awe of His expression through His people; then, finally, "I Have No Words."
I’m not sure where would be right now if it was not for receiving the Exchanged Life message. That’s just being honest. Jenny and I have been married for 33 years – 34 this July, God willing.
If we just look at the last 10 years and just look at the cancer surgeries, the chemo, the radiation, the bills, the constant doctor and hospital visits and the consultations with medical professionals and alternative care givers, all the travel and even the hard conversations with each other about the possibilities, and consider walking through that apart from Jesus Christ? – let’s just be honest – it would not have ended well or even been a conversation today.
